Political micromanaging has and will continue to cost lives and compromise missions.

Stability and cohesiveness within a group of well-trained dedicated soldiers is essential to a team’s survival and effectiveness in combat. A true brotherhood mentality is a fundamental necessity among teammates when attempting to achieve objectives safely and successfully. Some 90% of combat soldiers in some polls say they would prefer to maintain a straight fighting force. Many straight soldiers feel that gays should have to use separate heads and showers because they are uncomfortable showering with them due to their sexual preferences.

Women are playing an increasing role in the running of military combat operations but this transition hasn’t been easy and continues to present many challenges. Though the overwhelming majority of women in the Armed Forces advance based on merit and tenure, there are still many of them who feel that gender should play a much larger role in rank promotions. I personally don’t believe that race, gender, religion, or now sexual orientation should be a criterion for entrance or advancement but apparently the Federal Government disagrees.

Qualifications and requirements should be based on a soldier’s ability to develop into an intelligent, courageous, well-trained team-oriented warrior and not their sexual preference.

There have been an incredible amount of resources exhausted in internal litigation involving thousands of cases of sexual harassment and misconduct involving women and though most are legit – it’s a distraction. How will gay rights play a part in new future bi-military, only time will tell. Keeping the leadership focused on running the world’s greatest war machine should be the primary objective and not socially engineering the forces.

Islam is another problem. Muslims are accepted much easier than Christians in the interest of Political Correctness which has proven deadly on numerous occasions. It is nearly impossible for a home-schooled Christian to enter the US Marines and the Air Force has begun to systematically reject them as well.

Eventually, there will there be special liberties, advancements, quartering, and privileges offered to gay enlisted personnel. Restitution and reconciliation will follow once they have established their place within the combat rank structure and the administration hierarchy.

I don’t want a frontline combat squad leader selected because of his sexual orientation or religion – I want someone qualified and proven!

Earmarks or necessary Projects?

“Are (all) earmarks bad?” This is one of the questions I receive most from my subscribers.
"One man's earmark is another man's important project!" is a phrase often heard in the political arena regarding this subject and in some cases is fairly accurate.

U.S. Congressional members can secure hundreds of millions of dollars of funding for projects without subjecting it to debate by their colleagues, or to the scrutiny and oversight of the public. Because earmarks are hard to identify, some members use them to secretly award their biggest campaign contributors or exchange them for bribes. The secrecy of the earmarking process invites unethical and corrupt behavior, where lobbyists and contractors and well-connected individuals give campaign contributions to legislators in return for federal funding.

I support a temporary moratorium on congressional earmarks until there is transparency & accountability in the system and would not impose a complete ban at this time - strict guidelines must be established.

Earmarks can be found both in legislation (also called "Hard earmarks" or "Hardmarks") and in the text of Congressional committee reports (also called "Soft earmarks" or "Softmarks"). Hard earmarks are binding and have the effect of law, while soft earmarks do not have the effect of law but by custom are acted on as if they were binding.

Typically, a legislator seeks to insert earmarks that direct a specified amount of money to a particular organization or project in his/her home state or district. Earmarks are often considered synonymous with "pork barrel" legislation, although the two are not necessarily the same.

Generally the more powerful members of the U.S. Congress get more earmarks. Members of the Appropriations Committees in the House and Senate are in the best position to secure earmarks. They can insert them into spending bills during closed committee meetings, with no public scrutiny. Earmarks are also offered to members to entice them to vote for a bill they otherwise might not vote for.

Is a small bridge in a rural county a project or an earmark? There are numerous examples of projects (earmarks) that are considered necessary to some constituents but considered “pork” by those who reside in an adjacent district.

Defenders of the earmarking process point out that directing money to particular purposes is a core Constitutional function of Congress. Many members have instituted an applications process that their constituents must undergo for earmark requests. Finally, member-directed projects constitute less than 2 percent of the federal budget and the debate is more about bribes than cost.

Trust me – this will be another very touchy subject for congressional Republicans.

Fiscal or Fetus?

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 273px; height: 185px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_3ne4zxYbafk/TIbsnqogIkI/AAAAAAAAAA8/DFDMKVAX-JY/s320/prolife1.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5514354959964971586" />For decades I have written about the subject of conservatism and abortion. Right to life is fundamental to conservatism and the two principles are inseparable. Both male and female politicians cannot be true conservatives and distance themselves from the issue of abortion. Since 1973 many Republicans have touted their pro-life stance but have failed to push for a repeal of Roe V Wade.

Often I hear many so-called conservatives say that we have bigger fish to fry and that people are more worried about the economy and terrorism than they are about this age-old issue. I do believe however that most citizens have just simply conceded defeat and no longer feel that the majority of Americans care to discuss this matter any further, unfortunately - they’re right.

Calling a rose killer by any other name has apparently worked. The term “Pro Choice” transformed the issue from the killing of an innocent unborn baby to defending the rights of the mother. By convincing women that the entire issue is about protecting her right to decide what’s best for her – and not about the useless unloved fetus.

Liberals will fight to the death to defend lizards, whales, owls, and basically any living organism on the planet other than a human infant but it’s Conservatives that gave up the defense of the unborn in lieu of self preservation. They have found a way to promote their campaigns by labeling themselves as “Fiscal Conservatives” or basically saying that financial responsibility is far more important than God’s creations.

Now more than ever many Republicans avoid the subject entirely or dodge it at every opportunity. They have bought into the “Pro Choice” argument and are afraid that women voters will accuse them of not respecting their rights thus causing them to lose their prestigious and powerful federal positions – they have simply turned their back on humanity and are not true conservatives. Shame on them all!

Congress - Too big, too late!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 225px; height: 225px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_3ne4zxYbafk/TIWZReVHLkI/AAAAAAAAAA0/gL0KJ_ya8TU/s320/world.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5513981844263480898" />
The Federal Government has grown so much and the problems facing the global community are too much for our elected representatives. I really don’t believe that our officials honestly know how to deal with the complex issues of our time.

I have spent many years working to understand why things are seemingly out of control and that’s because they really are. These politicians are confronted daily with domestic and global economic concerns, terrorism, banking and financial matters, crime legislation, a ballooning housing crisis, taxes & exploding deficits, and a wide array of complicated social issues just to name a few.

Ideology aside, most of the men and women in Congress want to do the right thing but are dealing with problems that are for the most part insurmountable.

The problems we face today are too much for the people responsible for solving them. I mean no disrespect nor am I attempting to demean their experience or competence but they’re way in over their heads.

The tremendous pressures put on these average individuals are greater than the human mind can comprehend and we are kidding ourselves if we believe that they can handle it consistently.

Commerce and education legislation seem like simple matters to contend with but not in this age. The knowledge required is extensive and the research necessary is tedious and confusing. Casting an educated vote is not as easy as it appears. Now just think of more complex issues like bailouts, terrorism, budgets & stimulus packages, environmental laws, global trade, energy, et cetera – get the picture.

Ok, now throw in congressional hearings, confirmations, and let’s don’t forget constant campaigning for re-election which often includes stumping for their like-minded colleagues.

When you take in account the lack of trust in Washington and the huge amounts of misinformation, peer pressure, and literally thousands of lobbyists and other government agencies, how can anyone perform well under these conditions? This simple answer is - they don’t!

Under the current political structure, things will only get worse for either party or both.

I‘m not attempting to excuse their behavior - I’m just glad it’s them and not me!

The Party of “ANTI!”

Liberalism is not based on political ideology, I believe it’s quasi-religious. The purpose of this commentary is to point out what I have known and spoken about for most of my life and that is – Radical Liberals hate Christ Jesus thus making the foundation of their religious beliefs anti-Christian!

Let me make my point first by addressing the basic right to life. Liberals are against this fundamental right granted by the creator. Extreme liberalism states that executing unborn children is a elemental right of the creation – not the creator.

The United States of America is considered the only true Christian Nation and has been under attack for this reason since its inception.

During the most recent presidential election, millions of Liberal Americans said that they would have voted for Barack Obama even if he was found not to be an American citizen and or if it was determined that he was in fact a Muslim - This is anti-American and very scary!

Liberals regularly burn the American flag and desecrate it at every chance. They openly despise the American way of life and proudly loathe the constitution and its founding principles. They detest the first amendment for not specifically denouncing Christianity and the second amendment for being the protector of this unique governmental system.

They have removed the Pledge of Allegiance from the public school houses and have nearly silenced the American Anthem entirely. Liberals have blamed Christianity for capitalism which is the exact antithesis of Liberalism.

Other targets of radical liberalism are the importance of traditional families and the sanctity of marriage both of which are inspired by God and encouraged by the founding fathers of our wonderful republic.

Socialist liberals work to strip the average American of their dignity and pride of self reliance. They desire a cultural of dependency for which they derive their power. By indoctrinating the children through liberal media sources, television, and the public school system they have created a society of hopelessness and class envy.

Liberals teach sex education to elementary age children, defend child molesters & rapists, and they often sympathize with terrorists and embrace street gangs. They support open borders and ignore the will of the American people on a regular basis.

The traditional democrats are lost; they are clinging to a party that still pretends to be a friend of the working man and the answer to all economic woes. It will take a long time before the more conservative members of the Democratic Party to denounce the social activists and abandon their anti-American agenda.

Democrats will tolerate corruption, burning flags, abortion, sexual predators, illegal aliens & drugs, and the banning of Bibles. They defend radical Muslims who want to build a Mosque next to ground zero and are willing to destroy the destruction of the traditional American way of life for just the slim promise of a so-called better life.

Related article: http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2010/08/05/andrea-tantaros-ground-zero-mosque-double-standard-religion-liberals

Political Views: Who cares?

The political establishment is not bound by party affiliation or ideology, just greed and power. I have spent many hours attempting understand voter apathy in South Carolina and often come away scratching my head.

The lack of interest in the political process by the average citizen especially in these most difficult and challenging times still mystifies me.

There’s nothing more important than choosing those who control our military forces, highway systems, and many other vital government services. Politicians play such a crucial role in our personal lives by the decisions they make and the votes they cast. These so-called public servants have a major impact in our everyday lives from public education to shaping economic conditions around the world.

It appears that much of the apathy comes from the feeling by many that their opinions don’t count and often consider voting a waste of time, sounds like hogwash or an excuse but maybe just maybe there is something to this phenomenon.

Voter apathy is the method in which the political establishment derives its power. I have spent countless hours revisiting and analyzing the results of the primary and runoff elections in South Carolina and many campaigns leading up to those important events.

The establishment is not made up of liberals and conservatives per se, just greedy power hungry individuals who only serve to benefit themselves, their associates & friends, and have absolutely no interest in serving the general populous.

The establishment in South Carolina is entrenched deeper than even I thought possible. There is a virtual syndicate operating in this state that control nearly the entire legislative process, public school system, and other important matters such as Congressional redistricting. They run Democrat and RINOs in nearly all state, local, and federal races which provides for a no lose situation. Many people who desire to run for public office often decline due to intimidation leaving many races uncontested – this must stop.

Believe it or not but many of the Republican candidates running for public office are totally unaware that they are pawns in this game until elected, and by then it’s too late. And yes I have been fooled a few times myself resulting in many bitter disagreements with my own endorsements and though sometimes disappointed – I will not give up on the process. Often education can be very painful and costly.

The only way South Carolina can prosper is to stop the establishment from controlling so many aspects of our government which can be difficult if the people don’t know who to trust.

I just hope and pray that people will get involved in the process and look past political ads and the typical political rhetoric and support those who are hopefully not part of the powerful political establishment.

Please get involved and peace to all!

Natural & Political Conservatism (Continued)

Are minimal or no taxes a Natural Conservative issue or were they adopted as part of a fiscal conservative platform?

Let’s take a look at the 16th Amendment to the Constitution shall we?

“The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.”

In 1909 self-proclaimed conservative Republican Nelson Aldrich often referred to as the "General Manager of the Nation" and chairman of the Senate Finance Committee introduced a constitutional amendment to establish an income tax. Ironically, Aldrich had declared a similar measure "communistic" a decade earlier. In 1908 he became the chief sponsor of the Aldrich-Vreeland Act which created the National Monetary Commission, which drew up the Aldrich Plan that formed the basis for the Federal Reserve System.

(footnote: Aldrich led a team of experts to study the European national banks. After his trip, he came to believe that Britain, Germany and France had a much superior central banking system.)

On June 16, 1909, President Taft, a Republican in an address to the Republican Congress, proposed a 2% federal income tax on corporations by way of an excise tax and a constitutional amendment to allow the previously enacted income tax. The Republican controlled Congress again attached a provision for an income tax to a tariff bill. Conservatives, hoping to kill the idea for good, proposed a constitutional amendment enacting such a tax; they believed an amendment would never receive ratification by three-fourths of the states. Much to their surprise, the amendment was ratified by one state legislature after another, and on February 25, 1913, with the certification by Secretary of State Philander C. Knox, the 16th amendment took effect.

Taxes are not a true natural conservative issue; lower taxes and minimal taxation have been adopted by political conservatives along with abolishing the IRS and dismantling the Federal Reserve even though they created under Republican control. This is why there is a legitimate disconnect within the Republican between true conservatives and political conservatives.

My point continues to be this, conservatism by its nature cannot be a movement of mankind because it is the foundation of human existence. Anything that opposes and ultimately seeks to counter these natural principles is a movement.

My Views on Conservatism

“Conservative” is another word for preservation. – Hey, who wants to be called a preservative? Before something can be preserved it must first be created. Conservatism has changed considerably since the 1700’s. Conservatism began with God’s Ten Commandments (not suggestions) for example “Thou shalt not kill,” the preservation of life & “Thou shalt not commit adultery” which preserves fidelity. Conservatism really took root during the “Age of Enlightenment” back in the 18th century. The Age of Enlightenment sometimes called the Age of Reason by many Historians is considered to be the most significant intellectual movements in history.

I personally don’t believe that “Conservatism” is a movement rather a belief system based on a set of core principles originating from natural laws and basic human understanding. Liberalism is a movement for its primary purpose is to move people away from conservative principles. Pro-life is not a movement – Abortion is the movement. Other examples of liberal movements are “Anti-gun,” “Anti-family,” and “anti-capitalism.”

People often refer to their type of conservatism as “Real,” “Very,” “Extreme,” “Ultra,” “Mega,” “Extra,” and “Super,” which sound more like types of hair gels but I digress.

“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” ~ Edmund Burke. Burke was an Irish political philosopher and statesman who crew up in the Enlightenment era. He was a harsh critic of rationalist theories of "natural law" and social contract. Like David Hume, Burke believed that political and social organization evolved organically over history from a variety of political, cultural and social circumstances. In Burke's view, current society is a robust organism that emerged piecemeal and slowly over history. For this reason, Burke never trusted abstract "grand plans" for radical political, economic and/or social reorganization of society. This has led him to be celebrated as the father of Conservatism.

Conservatives are independent individuals that often share core principles and band together when those set of principles are under attack by foreign and domestic forces.

I have interviewed and studied many self proclaimed “conservative” politicians for decades and one of the questions I often ask is “what does conservatism mean to you?”
The responses are nearly identical with some slight variances, it’s almost like they all had just listened to the same infomercial. Most of them provide the safe “traditional” answers such “I’m pro-life, for less government, and support individual responsibility.” though these are great talking points – conservatism is a much deeper philosophy.

Many people believe that conservatism originated during the drafting of the US Constitution. Though the Constitution was drafted by mostly people with conservative beliefs, it is only a byproduct of conservatism and not the foundation. The “Age of Enlightenment” I believe is what sparked the great debates that resulted in the American Revolution which was clearly spelled out in the Declaration of Independence.

Conservatives want to “preserve” freedom and their natural rights (also called moral rights or inalienable rights). Natural rights are rights which are not contingent upon the laws, customs, or beliefs of a particular society or governed body. Natural rights are universal, whereas legal rights are culturally and politically relative.

To provide one word to describe a political movement we would be required to define it’s meaning through a set of principles and core values. However this would very difficult to do because of the many varying opinions and ideologies associated with the label.

Being principled and anchored to core values that are proven true and that do not waiver with circumstances. Those principles not only served to build this nation, but sustain it as well throughout our history. God being the Foundation and the CORE as it was with those who framed the Constitution and declared that only God could give mankind unalienable rights, will prove to advance us in the areas of our spirituality as well as socially, and financially.

Conservatives put great value in the traditional family unit, and they sanction programs that promote moral behavior. They believe that marriage should take place between a man and a woman. Christian conservatives support laws that promote ethics and morality, based on values founded in a strong Judeo-Christian heritage. Many conservatives, and especially Christian conservatives, express strong feelings about the sanctity of life. They cherish human life and tend to believe that abortion should be illegal because they believe that life begins at conception.

Conservatives generally value individual accomplishment and resent too much government intervention. They do not believe that it is the job of the government to solve the problems of society by imposing intrusive or costly policies, such as affirmative action or mandatory health care programs.

Often, the government unfairly implements social policies as a counter-balance for perceived social injustice. Conservatives want politicians that really listen and preserve our republic and the constitution. Conservatives generally reject any attempt by the Government to tread on the rights of “We the people!”

Fiscal conservatives favor a limited role for government, so they also favor a small budget for the government and lower taxes. They believe that individuals should retain more of their own earnings and pay less to the government. Conservative are not against taxation providing that it’s fair, minimal, and used responsibly.
Conservatives advocate a large role for the military in preserving security for society. They tend to believe that a large military presence is an essential tool for safeguarding society against acts of terrorism.

RINO (Republican in Name Only): The term implies that, regardless of party affiliation, RINO’s are not "bona fide" Republicans and generally don’t vote conservative on most issues. The tag is usually given because a politician's actions and policies often differ from the Republican Party platform.

Being an ardent conservative requires a tremendous amount of courage in today’s political environment. There is still much debate on whether a politician can be fiscally conservative but not socially. Many in the Republican Party believe that the RINOs are the ones responsible for Republicans losing both houses of congress and opening the door for the Obama presidency. Many liberals and moderate Democrats run as Republicans in order to be elected in traditionally conservative areas of the county but due to their core beliefs fail to represent the values of their constituents resulting in resentment toward the party as a whole.

An overwhelming percentage of Americans identify themselves as conservatives but often don’t vote due to frustration which is the goal of the liberal movement. Many times we have to trust candidates who proclaim to be conservative, however once elected “We the People” can trust - but must verify!

Note: Many of the above comments are principles of political conservatism and not necessarily that of the natural laws of conservatism - I will expand on the differences in my upcoming blogs.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Activist - who me?

I’m sure by now everyone has become very familiar with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now better known as ACORN which the main stream media and liberals call a community organizer. Though this is not a new label, President Barack Obama is unquestionably the most famous community organizer in recent years.

Civil rights leader, Citizen Advocate, and Community Activist are just some of the titles that have made many liberals famous thus catapulting them in to the limelight resulting in many of them becoming political heavyweights. Many of these individuals become elected officials and often run very successful campaigns as a result of their experiences with grassroots programs.

Liberal and Socialist community leaders are not only very prominent but those who devote themselves to causes are hailed as heroes of the people and looked upon favorably by politicians who desperately seek their endorsements and assistance during elections.

This brings us to conservative grassroots organizers, what is that you ask? Well, grassroots is just a new name for campaign volunteer coordinators but marketed as a group of volunteers who go out into the communities to drum up support or secure votes for a given political candidate but not in anyway affiliated with any other cause or campaign – what a waste of resources. Even the liberals use their manpower more efficiently then that of their rival conservative counterparts.

The main stream media has convinced most Americans that Conservative activists are associated with radical right-wing extremism causing so-called Patriots to avoid becoming a community leader thus escaping the label. This is not only untrue but a travesty!

Republican Party groups typically despise and often ridicule activists strictly because they can’t manage them and feel that they threaten their plans to control the outcome of the GOP primary elections. Republican Party leaders are primarily paid lobbyists for organizations that want to see their candidates get elected. This has been the Good Ole Boy network for many many years but the paradigm has now shifted to social networking and community involvement by those pesky citizens taking dominance away from the establishment.

The establishment has taught conservative Republicans and “Seasonal Republicans” to avoid associating with independent conservative leaders because they believe that the power over the electoral process belongs to a few really smart people and that the public is too stupid to make decisions on their own – boy are things changing.

I want to encourage all concerned conservative citizens to take the lead in their neighborhoods and to help form political groups in their communities and not rely on the establishment to look out for the best interest of society.

Though to most the Tea Party and 912 groups are something new, well they’re not. They have been around for decades but are no doubt larger now due to the economic conditions and the current political crisis facing our country.

(“Grassroots” is a political campaign strategy that involves many volunteers and many hours of hard work. It’s an organized group of people who are promoting a particular candidate with a specific platform flood over an area such as a city, county, state, or district also known as the “field.” Once in the field, the volunteers plant the seeds, water and nourish them until fertile - the fruits of the harvest will not be determined until Election Day).

Unfortunately, many who aspire to involve themselves in citizen’s rights issues and become conservative leaders soon come to believe that the only way to serve their community is by running for public office thus eliminating a powerful voice in the community.

Becoming a politician is an honorable goal but it’s not the only way to serve your community and make a difference. Let’s face it, when it comes to rallying the troops and building support groups the liberals are kicking our patriotic behinds.

GET INVOLVED!

Tea Party Reality

I have attended a few Tea Party meetings recently, spoken to many members, and have met with their organizers on several occasions – this movement is for real. Though I strongly oppose a third party I am impressed with the attendance and enthusiasm of the Tea Party groups.

Most of these people are true American patriots and ardent conservatives who feel left out of the political process and abandoned by the Republican Party or never were embraced by the Democrats. Simply said, they are fired-up, angry and organizing and better be taken serious by the GOP.

Most of the Tea Party members I spoke with don’t want a third party in fear of giving democrats easy victories but demand to be heard – and brother I hear them loud and clear. If Republican candidates and elected officials dismiss this movement they will pay dearly at the polls.

The US Constitution is still alive and well and its supporters are also very much alive and will be a force in the political arena – that’s just a fact. They already far out number the GOP groups and are growing without any sign of slowing down – frankly, I am impressed but no surprised!

I am a Republican to the bone and feel that we including GOP leaders, candidates, and elected officials must lobby for their support and earn their vote or the GOP will struggle to regain its identity.

It’s this simple – they want leaders with principles and not just less taxes but no more taxes. They want guaranteed accountability and transparency and will not tolerate any thing short. Frankly, these Americans are tired of being lied to and robbed of their and the future of their children.

I am warning the GOP that failing to respect this movement will be a huge mistake; we must attend their meetings, not just as speakers but as listeners.

This is democracy at its finest and we in the GOP must celebrate these groups and campaign to get their vote and respect which just requires us to follow the constitution and represent the will of the people.

There is so much energy in these groups and their issues are not difficult for a true patriot to understand – but we must first be willing to listen and I am!!!

Tebow - Dead to Rights!

The liberal infant death squads knew that challenging Tim Tebow’s commercial would cause a media frenzy and ultimately benefit the Pro-life movement but just couldn’t pass up an opportunity to promote their anti-Christian platform.

The strategy was brilliant; just leak to the liberal press about the commercial and let those idiots take it from there. Now everyone in America is talking about how the socialists tried everything possible to stifle opposing views by having spot pulled to no avail.

NOW, The National Organization for [some] Women is now insisting that the image of Tim Tebow tackling his mother in the ad “promotes violence against women” but failed to condemn Snicker’s for Abe Vigoda & Betty White getting trampled in their commercial – which was rated number one by viewers. Tim’s mother was tackled while having fun with her son - you liberal morons. However, people who murder their babies wouldn’t understand the concept.

The brief ad would have been barely noticed if not for the left-wing nut jobs who just couldn’t manage to shut their pie-holes for 30 seconds and let it play. The extreme outrage and constant criticism from the liberal bias media drew a thousand times more interest in Tebow’s cause than the ad alone could ever have generated.

I always wondered, if Planned Parenthood promotes the extermination of babies then where’s the parenthood. I also pose these questions often to liberals; if you want to exterminate future generations then who are you saving the planet for?

Comments by SC Lt. Governor Andre Bauer regarding Government Entitlements

I have read the comments by Lt. Governor Bauer regarding government subsidies and I came away at first thinking of all those gaffes by VP Biden. I will not attempt to interpret the intention of Lt. Governor’s remarks but I will briefly comment on his statement following a brief story:

Back in the early eighties I spent some time in Southie (South Boston) conducting political research regarding the deep division within the communities of Jamaica Plain, Southie, and Roxbury Massachusetts resulting from years of Liberal Social engineering. Southie’s notorious gangster James “Whitey” Bulger often credited his opportunities for fame & fortune to the failed “Kennedy Experiments” of the seventies. I met three democrats from the area - Jerome, Michael, & Gerald and we all became good friends. I was saddened to know that the Jerome’s brother was in prison for killing a young boy in a race riot in Roxbury in the late 70’s. Jerome was a bus driver in Boston and grew up in a street gang. Gerald, was unemployed at the time of my visit and once was beaten severely by a gang and left for dead. Michael was a Patriot and an ex-US Marine who fought briefly in Beirut then returned to a dish washing job in Worcester.

After leaving Boston I realized that these people were dealing with the same issues that I was confronted with daily while going to school in the south. While growing up in the New Orleans area during the sixties and seventies I was exposed to constant racial hostilities mostly as a result of governmental intrusion in the local school systems and federal subsidies. Like my friends from New England, we rejected the experiment and rebelled against social indoctrination- they had it much worse than I due to busing.

I returned to Boston in 1986 as a guest of my Democrat (closet-conservative) friends from Quincy Mass who had front row tickets to the World Series at Fenway Park between the Mets and the Sox –I had a blast. Since my last visit years earlier my friends Jerome, Michael, & Gerald have become die-hard Reagan Republicans which alienated many of their friends and family – a bittersweet conversion but I was nevertheless proud.

The strange thing about this story is that Jerome, Michael, and Gerald were all black. I attempted to contact these guys during the Senatorial Race to no avail. I regret losing contact with them even though I spent months in Bellingham and Weymouth in 2005. I now wonder if what seemed to be just male-bonding during my long ago visits may have played some small part in recent events.

I still contend that the majority of these issues are directly related to lack of education and decades of liberal indoctrination and social engineering which has gotten much worse in recent years. My point behind the story is that I have hundreds of African-America friends who are true patriotic conservative Republicans and like millions of other minorities across America want this cultural of dependency to stop and stop now!

This is not a race thing – it’s a political thing!

Mr. Bauer could have used more appropriate verbiage I agree; however his views are in line with the beliefs of the majority of South Carolinians and most Americans. Taxpayers shouldn’t have to subsidize citizens that could otherwise contribute to the betterment of society. Undeserving subsidies encourage dependency which is harmful to the recipients as well as society. We as a community along with the Government in order to survive must work these individuals off of assistance and somehow get them into the workplace.
I received many emails and responses to my Facebook posts regarding Bauer’s statement; nearly all were positive but most condemned his choice of words.

Comments by Lt. These young men and women are graduating high school and some are even honor students. This is inexcusable and needs to be corrected. We have absolutely the best military and since it’s voluntary we need to make sure that our children are properly educated and prepared. School systems need to stop indoctrinating our young with liberal socialistic garbage like evolution, foreign languages, sexual orientation, global warming, and twisted psychology. The school systems have removed the pledge of allegiance and in some cases even the American flag and expect our young people to know this information when attempting to enlist in the military. Multiculturalism is taken the place of patriotism and we have moved away from teaching about US History and Civics and to concentrating on Global Studies. We must make education one of the primary issues in the 2010 & 2012 elections. Our economy, safety, and overall quality of life depend on how we educate our youth.

Golden Rules!

This year will the most defining period in American history. The traditional values that made America great are under attack from within and all concerned Americans must stand together and reject the transformation of our system of government into that of a socialistic or possibly even a communist state. We the people ultimately control this country and only we can reverse the tide. We must get at filibuster able Senate at a minimum with the primary goal of obtaining a majority. Of course capturing the US House of Representatives should be our second priority but will be much more difficult. Very few people are involved in the political process and the majority don’t even vote. The words “My vote don’t count” is pleasing to the ears of opportunistic power hungry individuals who seek public office for personal gain; the truth is that our vote is everything. However, if you not concerned with the future of America, tax rates, civil liberties, individual rights, threat of terrorism, or religious freedom then voting is probably a waste of time. The secret is to get involved and support those who share your values and hold them accountable for their actions; they work for us and we must not be quite for to them Silence is Golden!

"We The Conservative People"

During the late 1970s, there was a mass exodus from the Democratic Party when Jimmy Carter and his team of liberal legislators proved to be totally inept at running the country. There will be in the upcoming months another such departure of those who desire to retain their Government prestige, healthcare and pensions. Liberalism has never defeated conservatism; it’s always the actions of the elected Republican Politicians that has caused the American people to seek change. Conservatives traditionally trust their elected officials so much that once the election process has concluded they go back to their day to day activities and fail to scrutinize those that they worked so hard to get elected. The elections of 2008 were a direct result of mass failure to follow traditional conservative principles of governing. Soon, the cycle will start back as the political pendulum shifts in the opposite direction; it will be job of “We the People” to vote for only true Conservatives and to keep them on the RIGHT track.
